Monigram Coffee Roasters

The name of the cafe is not misspelled my friends, but it is a play on the two of the loveliest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Monica and Graham have been busy growing their business in Downtown Galt. If you don't know where that is, just google map 16 Ainslie St South, Cambridge, ON. Throughout the year, my daughter and I go downtown and just let our feet take us wherever they want. Somehow, they always end up at Monigram's. We found this haven when my daughter turned 12 and joined the Air Cadets of Canada (they are right across the street) and I needed a spot to wait for her to be done. I would sit in the cafe and soak in the atmosphere. The people ranged from regular working folk who just need a coffee, to hipsters with complicated orders that I still can't understand.

In the days before COVID, there were board games and cards for strangers to play together and form mayfly friendships. They have an assortment of food and baked goods. Can I recommend their cinnamon coffee muffin to you? OMG you need this in your life! Truly. This isn't just a cafe either, they would rent out the space upstairs too. I remember their board of events. There was knitting and yoga, among other events. I remember birthday parties and other goings on above Monigrams. 

Let's get to the now. While COVID has shut down a lot of amazing little businesses that i wish I could have talked about, Monigram is making it work. They have their bags and bags of coffee beans and some awesome merchandise too! Between their spectacular products and loyal following these guys aren't going anywhere. Next time you're in the neighborhood, pop in and grab some grub. Then head to my next location... the Cambridge Sculpture Garden for a mini-picnic.
